Coalo commenced delivery of the cleaning contract to LBH facilities on 1st September. The transition has been described by the client as having been “seamless”. Since contract award we have added two Children’s Centres and a school to the portfolio and are in the process of pricing several community halls and facilities that have been closed since March with the expectation of commencing service delivery in the near future.
We have completed a number of extra-contract pre-opening deep cleans and are providing additional Covid-related cleaning services to a number of properties in the portfolio.
We are also pleased to report that we have already made service improvements and are now offering the additional service of window cleaning (something that wasn't offered by the previous cleaning contractor).
At Coalo we work hard to reduce our carbon footprint and since gaining the cleaning services we have already made environmental improvements, which have started with new vacuums cleaners. We identified and tested a new vacuum cleaner, made from 75% recycled materials, which uses 30% less energy. We are swapping out all new, unused vacuum cleaners for this model.
In the mobilisation period two procurements were run, one for the plant and equipment and the second for the supply of consumables. The successful bidder for both is a local supplier based in Feltham. So, we are keeping it local to support local businesses during the crisis and at the same time helping to reduce our carbon footprint.
